§ 01Les Trois Glorieuses (third weekend of November)
Les Trois Glorieuses (third weekend of November)
The biggest event on the Burgundy calendar, a trilogy (source: compass_artifact_wf-5af489e6...):
1. Saturday — black-tie gala of the Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin at the Château du Clos de Vougeot / Clos de Vougeot. 2. Sunday — the Hospices de Beaune charity auction under the Halles de Beaune (run by Sotheby's, en primeur of the current vintage). 3. Monday — the Paulée de Meursault (a ~750-guest lunch where each brings a prized bottle to share).
The weekend (branded "Festivinales") also brings street fairs, a vineyard half-marathon, and special tastings — but crowds swell and lodging books out and spikes in price. Decide deliberately: go for the spectacle, or avoid the weekend for a calmer trip (source).
