Fall / harvest festivals
- Pfifferdaj (Fête des Ménétriers) in Ribeauvillé — Alsace's oldest festival ("Town of Fiddlers"), first Sunday of September, with a ~1,500-costumed-extra medieval parade (entry ~€10) (source: compass_artifact_wf-755602f0...).
- Riesling Festival in Riquewihr — mid-September (source).
- Fête des Vendanges (grape-harvest festival) in Barr (the oldest, with flowered floats and new wine) and in Molsheim (electing a "Queen of Grapes") (source).
- Eguisheim's new-wine celebration, plus the Colmar Jazz Festival and a Halloween event at Château du Haut-Koenigsbourg (source).
- The Fête des Vignerons in Eguisheim in late August (source: The Ultimate Alsace Wine Route Itinerary ⭐️ 2026 Map.md).
§ 02Christmas markets (late Nov–Dec)
Christmas markets (late Nov–Dec)
Alsace is world-famous for its Christmas markets — Strasbourg, Colmar, Riquewihr, Kaysersberg, and Ribeauvillé — magical with mulled wine (vin chaud) and lights, but cold, crowded, and with tight, pricey accommodation; the vineyards are dormant (source: compass_artifact_wf-755602f0...). Obernai hosts one of the most beautiful markets, mid-November to end of December (source: Alsace Wine Route by Car – Itinerary & Map.md).
> Festival dates shift year to year — confirm 2026 dates with official tourism sites before planning around them (source: compass_artifact_wf-755602f0...).
