Grevenmacher

The town
Grevenmacher is the main town of the northern Luxembourg Moselle, a short hop downstream from Wasserbillig — the valley's rail gateway, which faces German Trier across the river (source: Luxembourg-Moselle-Wine-Region-research.md).
It is home to Caves Bernard-Massard, Luxembourg's leading family Crémant house (~3.5 million bottles a year), whose cellar tour includes a film and tasting; the Jardin des Papillons butterfly garden is a family favourite nearby (source: Luxembourg-Moselle-Wine-Region-research.md).

The northern anchor and the easiest hop from Trier — cross at Wasserbillig and start with Bernard-Massard, the valley's flagship sparkling house.

Getting around
Grevenmacher is reachable from Luxembourg City in about an hour by train-plus-bus, or via Wasserbillig and a short southbound bus. It has a RentaBike station on the PC3 cycle path, the easiest way to ride south to Wormeldange and Ehnen (source: Luxembourg-Moselle-Wine-Region-research.md).
