Rosé, Rosado and Rosato are three different names for the pink stuff. Each country focuses on different grapes for making rosé wine, and each results in unique and different flavors. Wine Folly's advice: try a rosé from each of these countries — France, Spain and Italy — to get a complete picture of what the style has to offer (source: European Wine Exploration Map _ Wine Folly.pdf).

On this trip, pink shows up as the tart, lean rosé of Vinho Verde and as rosé Crémant (Crémant d'Alsace, Crémant de Bourgogne); Spain's reds (Rioja, Monastrell) and Italy's (Chianti, Valpolicella) are the rosado/rosato homelands.
