The village

Vosne-Romanée is a tiny village (341 residents) on the Route des Grands Crus (Côte d'Or) that conceals the world's most valuable vineyardsRomanée-Conti, La Tâche and Richebourg. Romanée-Conti and La Tâche are monopoles of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, which does not accept visitors; the pilgrimage is to the stone cross beside the vines (source: compass_artifact_wf-5af489e6...; Vosne-Romanee-research.md).

With DRC closed and most estates appointment-only, the way to actually taste is the Vosne Tasting Club, the family Domaine A. & B. Rion (which also runs truffle hunts), or the walk-in La Maison des Vins by the church. The village's comfortable base is the 4-star Le Richebourg with its VineaSpa, and its full-service table is La Toute Petite Auberge (source: Vosne-Romanee-research.md).

Our notesLook, then taste with a guide

The village hides the most valuable vines on earth, but DRC doesn't accept visitors and services are scarce. Photograph the Romanée-Conti cross, taste via the Vosne Tasting Club or Domaine Rion, and lean on Nuits and the neighbours.

Photograph the cross; book a tasting.
